The purpose of 7th grade science is to develop an understanding of the properties and principles of matter and energy, force and motion and the characteristics and interactions of living organisms. Students should develop an understanding of ecosystems and interactions of organisms with their environment, become knowledgeable of the processes and interactions of Earth's different spheres and the composition and structure of the universe and the motions of the objects within it. Through scientific inquiry, research and analysis, students should acquire the necessary skills to apply problem solving skills to everyday life.
In 8th grade science, students experience a variety of integrated science activities. These activities include matter and energy, motion and the interaction of organisms. Students will gain insight using the scientific process and technology.
